Procedure for renting/vacating
This page will describe everything involved in renting a unit from us from first viewing a unit to claiming your deposit after you vacate.
Renting a Unit
Renting a Unit
When renting a unit we always recommend viewing the unit before you need to rent one. This gives you the ability to know what space is available, at what cost and it gives you the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the storage facility. We pride ourselves on keeping a clean, safe and dry facility at all times for the safety and security of your goods.
Once you have decided on a unit size, you can reserve a unit with us for just £20 which will put the unit under your name and the reservation can be taken up at any time and lasts 1 month. This deposit will go towards your first bill when you rent a unit with us.
To rent a unit with us we require 2 forms of ID. This is a necessity and the unit cannot be rented without this.
The two forms of ID must be at least one Photo ID and one proof of address.
Accepted forms of ID include:
- Passport
- Driving Licence
- Utility Bill
- Company Employee Card (e.g. NHS Card)
- Insurance Documents
Once these have been seen we will need to take a copy for our records.
We will also need to take a photo of you for our records.
To rent the unit you must pay the first 4 weeks of rental, the deposit and insurance on the day of renting the unit. This can be taken by Card or cheque but we cannot accept cash. We will also take your bank details to set up a Direct Debit so that the payments can be taken on the due date. We will invoice you 2 weeks before the payment is due and if you’re paying by direct debit these invoices will be for your information only.
Once payment has been made we will show you the procedure for getting in and out of the facility and show you where your unit is. We don’t provide a lock with your unit however we do sell them if you require one. Please see our packaging Materials section for further details.
Insurance is Mandatory with every contract taken. We can provide it or you are welcome to use your own, however we would require proof of insurance. Please also note that it is your responsibility to inform us of any changes with regards to your insurance. This proof of insurance preferably needs the details of our facility on it.
